Cultures around Europe - youth Exchange in Poland

Thirty-two people attended the Cultures around the Europe youth exchange program in Murzasichle, Poland between 11th and 20st of August, including eight young people from Harghita County.

The aim of the Erasmus+ project was to get to know the culture, traditions and history of the people from the participating countries, and young people from Transylvania, Greece, Croatia and Poland looked for similarities and common values between their nationalities.

In addition to various games and workshops, the youngsters had the opportunity to present the culture, traditions, tourist attractions and traditional cuisine of their countries during a national evening. The young people sent by the Harghita Community Development Association (ADI Harghita), initiated by the Harghita County Council, showed, among others, a short film about Transylvania, presented the Szekler folk costume, talked about our traditions, our history, our customs and the types of folk dances. Perhaps the only thing more popular than the Szekler products and photos of tourist attractions in Harghita County was the folk dance show, which was followed by a joint dance lesson.

The programme’s partners were the Harghita Community Development Association (ADI Harghita) from Romania, Euphoria from Greece, Omne Trium Perfectum from Croatia, and the project was coordinated by the Abyss of Mind Foundation of Poland.
