Representatives of our association participated in the first international meeting of the EU Rural Tourism project between 17-18 October. The event took place in Mirano, Italy.
The project is supported by the COSME programme (Programme for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and Support to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises).
The overall objective of the project is to develop a basic vision, objectives and operational structure for "rural tourism" by creating a cluster at European level:
- establishing a cooperation mechanism by linking regional tourism clusters, rural tourism professional organisations, local development agencies and transnational knowledge networks in the field of rural tourism;
- the creation of a network of at least 190 SMEs in at least 15 countries, whose members will receive training/further training in digital and green transformation;
- the creation of viable transnational networks of advanced rural tourism services, whose impact will be felt in the market and provide sufficient choice for international demand. This can be scaled up in the future based on general concepts, methodologies and experience gained during the project.
The project is coordinated by the Venetian Cluster (Italy).
Partners are Harghita Community Development Association (Romania), Narodni Klastrova Asociace (Czech Republic), Euracademy Association (Greece), Ruraltour - Federation Europeenne de Tourisme Rural (France), Asociacion Cluster de Turismo Sostenible De Aragon (Spain).
